what is this?
idle is a social app that recreates the dorm hallway — the one where you could leave your door open and friends would just show up. Open your door when you're around, see who else is available, knock if you want to hang. No feed, no algorithm, no pressure.
We're in open beta. That means things might break, features might change, and your feedback matters more than you'd think.
get set up

Install TestFlight
TestFlight is Apple's official app for beta testing. If you don't already have it, download it from the App Store. It's free and made by Apple.
Join the idle beta
Tap the button below on your iPhone. It will open in TestFlight automatically.
Get idle on TestFlightAccept the invite & install
Once TestFlight opens, you'll see the idle app listing. Tap Accept, then tap Install. The app will appear on your home screen just like any other app.
Open idle & sign in
Launch idle from your home screen. You'll verify your phone number, pick a username, and customize your door. That's it — you're on the hall.
Heads up:TestFlight builds expire after 90 days. When we push updates, you'll get a notification in TestFlight — just tap to update. Once we launch publicly, you'll transition to the App Store version seamlessly.

We’re inviting people in waves. If your hall feels quiet, invite a friend — it’s better with people you know.
Updates come frequently
We ship fast during beta. You’ll get new features, fixes, and sometimes totally new things to try every few days.

This isn’t a finished product with a feedback form for show. We read everything and it directly changes what we build next.
